Baby Mia

Hi Everyone,
This is Heidi, composing an email for T.E.A.R.S staff member, Jennifer. She and Luis and the sweetest new baby on earth, Mia Grace, are in the hospital, doing well. I’m writing quickly because we’re leaving soon to go get her from the hospital in the capital. Being with them during the birth process was unforgettable. In short, labor was difficult for Jennifer, and after twelve hours, she and Luis opted for a c-section. We found out during the operation that Mia’s umbilical cord was extremely short, and she could not have come naturally.
I can’t say enough good things about the doctors that helped Jennifer at the hospital, they are some of the most professional and loving people I’ve met. Even though the process was challenging, the environment was wonderful. Luis and Joy helped Jennifer throughout labor. I wish you could have seen Luis when he first laid eyes on Mia. He laughed with such joy and abandon, it brought me to tears. Mia came into the world at 7.5 pounds, 19.5 inches, with wavy dark hair and a strong but musical cry.
