Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

Psalms 126:5

Busy, busy, busy

The other day I was talking with a friend and she asked me how I was. “Great, so good but crazy, crazy busy.” I responded. “As soon as I get through this week it will be better.” She laughed and told me that

I say that every week. “Truly?” Well I have to admit that I am quite sure that is will be more than a week before my pace lets up, but I am getting better at enjoying the ride.

I am immersed in camp and retreat preparations and I spend my days in meetings trying to get it all done. My afternoons are filled with after school programs at my second job, ballet, homework, guitar practice and the normal chores a mom takes on in those crazy hours between the final school bell and the time we tuck our kids into bed. That’s when my work begins. While I try to fit it in during the minutes of down time during the day I often find myself in bed with the computer on my lap.
All that said, I am learning on a deeper level every day to let God direct my steps, to allow myself moments of quiet to listen and hear, and to pray through the day as I learn to abide in Him. I feel content and grateful for the opportunities I have — to serve my family and those communities we are a part of. I am in awe of how God can take my little seed and turn it into the most beautiful delicious fruit and, while I am satisfied by how far we have come, every day my heart is filled with dreams of new adventures.
