Christ is here, yes He is here, after the storm

By Rosmary: April 20th will always be an unforgettable day of my life because that’s the day the Lord spared my life together with my baby Zion. It all started with a strong rain mixed with hailstones and wind. I went to my room to put my baby to bed and at that very moment the bedroom roof flew off.

I picked up my baby and went to the living room and tried to call for help. No one saw or heard me. Before I could do anything else the kitchen roof started to lift up, so I picked up my baby and went out into the rain, hailstones, and strong wind. Just seconds after I got out the rest of the roof, both the living room and kitchen, fell right where I had just walked with my baby in my arms. That day was the hardest day of my life, yet I thank God for sparing our lives, and I recognize that we are part of a great miracle.

By Obed: The storm started instantly. I was in an elderly person’s home not far from my house, talking about how Jesus was the only one who could organize this disorganized world that is so full of injustice. Right then it started to rain hailstones accompanied by a strong wind. Some of the windows on this humble home were made of old cans and one blew off and hit me in the leg, thank God is hit me with the flat side and not the sharp edge.

One of the most difficult things I’ve experience in my life was seeing my wife devastated and crying when I returned after the storm as she tried to tell me what had happened. As is common I first thought the worst, I thought something had happened to our baby. But I calmed down when she told me that the baby was fine and that our house had been destroyed. In the middle of the rainstorm I did what I could to get over the fallen roof and make it upstairs to try and salvage some important papers and see if I could salvage anything else. But it wasn’t possible. That’s when I thought, “nothing’s left, everything is ruined, but Christ is here, yes He is here, after the storm.”

What an amazing story Obed and Rosmary. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to have my roof lift off my house. It would be terrifying. May God be with you and you with him as you struggle through this time and rebuild.

    Obed, Rosemery y Zion,

Si es muy verdadero, que aunque muchas veces pasan cosas que no se entienden, la mano de Dios siempre esta con nosotros, siempre nos esta protegiendo.

I saw the pictures of the storm and couldn’t believe it. When I heard the hail on one of the videos - I thought of you - Rosmary and what you went thru during that time. What a horrific experience! But we are glad that God was with you and you and your family were safe. We will be praying for you both as you go on and try to rebuild your home.

I was so worried when I heard about the horrible experience you went through. I am so glad to hear of how God is working in your life these days with providing means for shelter, travel to Columbia. Your strong faith is inspiring to me.
