Mia’s First Visit to the States

I had a fantastic trip to South Carolina with Mia Grace at the end of July. We were able to stay a whole month! We had a great time showing Mia Grace off to all of my family there, but we were sad to have to leave daddy behind in the DR! We are still working to get Luis’s paperwork to allow him to go to the states, so please be praying with us about this. He has yet to meet any of my family, with the exception of my parents who met him just a few months before we got married.

While in the states, we had two “Meet Mia” parties where friends and family were invited to come and see us. This helped tremendously with my schedule, so that I wasn’t constantly trying to run around and see lots of people, which usually leaves me returning to the DR more exhausted than when I left.

We were also able to spend a week at the beach with my immediate family, which was great fun! Mia loves water!!! Mia also started crawling while we were there and pulling up just a few days later! Yikes!! My family was thrilled to be able to spend time with her and see her in this ever-changing and growing first year of life. I think my mom must have washed 5 pounds off of her with all the baths she gave her - hahaha!! Mia also attended her first wedding while in the states and celebrated her 6 month birthday!!!

The trip “home” did wonders for my previously roller-coaster-like emotional state, and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go! I got loaded up on Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A and hot showers until the next visit comes about.
