May God bless you all very much.
In the last couple of months, we have been working on different projects. During this time, one thing that has greatly impacted me is that the leaders of El Camino church have wanted to focus more directly and specifically on the unity of the Christian community in the barrio.
It is surprising how the atmosphere among these churches in the community is changing. In June, we did a great activity together on the public basketball court on Street 12. It was a time of praise and worship with all the churches from the barrio. Since this activity in June, everything has been changing.
We also did an eye clinic in conjunction with our brothers from Canada. The clinic was based out of another church in the barrio, and for the first time since I’ve become a Christian, I was asked to come and preach several times in this other church. In the past, this would have been impossible. I really believe that something is happening.
Last Sunday, I was preaching at the church on Street 3, and it was a special time of prayer and teaching of the Word. I can feel in my spirit that the atmosphere between us has changed in a surprising way, and I believe that the hand of God is in this. We are planning an activity at El Camino church where we will get together with our brothers and sisters from these churches in our community and eat together. We ask you to pray with us because the message of the Bible is clear when it says that the way in which we as Christians love one another is the way in which others will know that we are true disciples of Christ. I believe that, from the beginning, Satan has been working to divide the people of God because he knows that he will triumph through this division – when the world sees that we are a group of people that believe in the same God but we cannot share or celebrate together. This kind of division is like saying a word but not doing it.
I am believing that the churches in this barrio will be an example for other churches in La Vega and in the world.
Again, I am asking for your prayers. I know that many people are praying for us here, but I ask that you all add this specific request to the list of things you are praying.

Blessings,
Bautista and Adriana Valerio
