Let the Water Flow

El Camino Church desires to be salt and light in the community of Maria Auxiliadora. To be a church that doesn’t just talk about Jesus but demonstrates the love and concern of Jesus which is mindful of the many physical needs in our midst. One way that this love for the community has been made tangible is through the water purification center. In partnership with Aguas de Unidad, El Camino has been able to offer clean drinking water to the community at a price that is not only reasonable but at half the price of the next lowest priced option (5 gallons for 15 pesos or about $0.40).

With the partnership term having been completed with Aguad de Unidad, and after some needed refurbishing, El Camino Church will be continuing to offer safe, clean drinking water as Servicio Comuntario Iglesia el Camino. As the name suggests (i.e., water is not in the title) El Camino Church desires that as a church we will see this service as more than providing water but as a way of demonstrating God’s love and care for the community and that it may be one of many different “services” that are birthed out of the church so that our friends and neighbors will taste and see that the Lord is good.

A big thank you to our friends at Varsity Bible Church in Calgary (Alberta, Canada) for their support with this project and the recent refurbishing and purchasing of required materials.
