Updated March 30, 2008:
For all churches considering coming down during 2008 we’re excited to let you know that we’re making some great changes! We want to get relationship and partnership back into the center of the short term mission trips and not just have teams “do” many activities. This includes connecting visiting teams with local church leaders from the very beginning of the planning stages with hopes of forming long term relationships and long term fruit in the local community. If you’re interested in finding out more please contact us.
Check out the following information (Updated March 30, 2008):

Bond with locals! Unite with T.E.A.R.S. supporting churches! Help us plant churches!
Full Description:
This is an opportunity for all T.E.A.R.S. Ministries supporters to roll up your sleeves and get involved with something off the beaten path! On this adventurous trip you will go much deeper into missions than on an average short term mission’s trip. In just two weeks you’ll come together with other T.E.A.R.S. supporters to serve and sacrifice as one team. You’ll do a joint community project, live in the barrio with some of the poorest in the community to get a deeper heart for the locals, and receive training in such areas as evangelism, preparing others for missions, church planting and more. Our goal is that you will be equipped to strengthen your churches relationship with T.E.A.R.S. and to further support missions no matter where you are so you can fully fulfill God’s purposes in your life.
Bond with locals!:
By staying in local homes, getting to know our indigenous T.E.A.R.S. staff members, and through cultural studies we hope you will have a new love and understanding of the people God has called us to serve.
Unite with T.E.A.R.S. supporting churches!:
This is an opportunity for members from all our different supporting churches to get to know each other, learn together, evangelize together, and do a work project in one of the communities we are working to establish a new church in.
Help plant churches!:
T.E.A.R.S. has a passion to see communities of worshipers (churches) established all over the world. Your prayers, your passion for missions and all that you do has a great impact on church planting movements all over the world. We hope and pray that this time of training will better equip you to be involved in what God is doing in this country and worldwide, and help you strengthen your church’s relationship with T.E.A.R.S.
A Word from Rod Davis, T.E.A.R.S. Ministry Director:
“To summarize, the badge that one wears when they participate with T.E.A.R.S. is: Communicating your passion for the poorest of the poor by participating in something bigger than yourself. You work with God to fulfill this mission that He has called you to, and become a part of this community - this family, this grass-roots ministry. You are now officially a T.E.A.R.S. Team Member!”
