About the Davis Family

The Davis family founded TEARS in 1995. Roderick Davis is currently serving as the Executive Director. Prior to his move to the ghettos of the Dominican Republic, Roderick gained 16 years experience in inner-city ministries in the United States. His experience in program development, group facilitation, cultural studies and interaction, church planting, bible studies, and staff training has afforded him measurable successes during his tenure. Although he would be considered fluent in Spanish, he is presently pursuing university level training to increase his language skills.

Since the ministry began, almost ten years ago, his leadership has included numerous projects including, but not limited to, a government-accredited school of over 100 children, 4 new churches, 2 churches brought under our covering, several social service outreaches such as a community computer training center, clothing and housing for the needy, a missionary intern program, hosting numerous short-term mission teams from the US and Canada, and the purchase of 5.5 acres that will house our leadership training center and vocational school. Rod is blessed to have Twila Davis as a partner of 21 years, a 17 year old daughter Shekinah, and a 15 year old son, Isaac. Each of the Davis family members have played a significant roll in the success of the ministry.
