Simply put, Joy is a great encourager. She makes everyone feel welcome and valued, and as our director, this is a quality that shines clearly and brings us together. She is a strong leader, able to make ideas happen and collaborate everything, a great multi-tasker.
Joy often has a lot on her plate, but her personality is always real, honest and down-to-earth. She has a sincere love for the barrio, and a heart for all the people who live in it. She is very relational and jovial, she loves to laugh and cry.
Joy has seen this school through all the way, through the good and the bad, she has been there. With determination and compassion, she is ready to face the future and ensure that the T.E.A.R.S. School continues to provide education to the neediest children in the Dominican Republic. Joy currently lives in Santiago with her three children and husband Vidal.
